I am impressed with the explanations of the traits. The purpose of the 6 + 1 traits is for teachers and students to understand and share a vocabulary for the qualities of good writing. I loved the student sample writings of stories emphasizing the six different traits to assist in assessing. I give this book a 9 + 1 score for the guidance it provides teachers in understanding the 6 + 1 traits of writing.
