5th Grade Math Assessment

There are three assessments for each of the concepts addressed in the Step Up to the TAKS Practice Book.

Two of the three assessments have questions similar in depth and complexity to each concept in the Practice Book. The third assessment contains actual released TAKS test items.

Teachers can decide whether to use the first two assessments as: a pretest and post-test, or a post-test after teaching the concept and then a review assessment to determine mastery a couple of weeks before the TAKS test.

For benchmarking purposes, teachers can utilize the first two assessments as the cumulative assessment and then use the released TAKS test items as the summative assessment for mastery.
