This book presents brain compatible one page explanations of each math concept which consists of an explanation of the math term, a cartoon using it, examples and an activity showing the use of the term. I would copy these pages on colored card stock and laminate. Place them in a resource box. When you need to tutor a child on a concept, pull the card and the term is introduced, defined, gives examples and provides guided practice to walk through with a student.

This resource could also be used by the student when the concept needs to be reviewed for reteaching. Since it is difficult to find math posters, create a poster of the pages of the concept you are teaching. Posters and cartoons are both memorable for brain compatible teaching. Posters are seen everyday and can be used as a reference every day. Cartoons are pictures and funny which are easy to remember.
